Austin Landmarks

The Train Trestle from the West side where it crosses the Colorado River. It's rusty looking with a bit of graffiti, downtown Austin in the background.
TRAIN TRESTLE
In 1906, the International and Great Northern R.R. Co. built this
steel-span trestle to replace the aging and dangerous iron trestle of 1880.
Because builders reused the picturesque 1880 limestone piers adding new concrete
piers between them, the trestle possesses Austin's oldest remaining bridge foundation.
