English is generally spoken in public.
Spanish is a common secondary language.
German is common in most areas South of Austin and North of San Antonio.

Just make sure there is not a Longhorn Football game on the weekend because the rooms fill to capacity quickly during major events like this and the South by Southwest Music Festival.
